Спору нет, хотя я нигде и никогда не чувствовал себя безопаснее, чем в Пекине.
Вот приколись, почитай рассказ бизнесмена, который побывал в Китае
"After visiting China I do not dare to do a T/T in advance, do you?
Two weeks ago I went to China to visit a few manufacturers everything went well and I’m convinced that they are sincere in business. While walking in the street in China and dealing with the petty traders really made me changed view towards the Chinese traders.
Incident 1
There is a telephone kiosk at the “DaZhaLan” Street in Beijing that put up a huge signboard promoting its STD call charges and I saw the price to call to Malaysia was 2 Yuan per minute which is 3 times cheaper than my roaming charges, I used the phone for 11 minutes which was displayed o the phone’s LCD. When I finished my call the operator press a few buttons and there was a recorded voice saying the total charges is 88 Yuan. He insisted and raised his voice that I must pay 88 Yuan because he has no control over the charges bill to him by the telephone service provider.
Incident 2
While walking in the area of “WangFuJing” in Beijing I came across a vendor selling bottles which are painted from the inside, he said that he was the 5th generation bottle painting artist. He showed me some samples, ( I must admit that the art work was quite fine ) and said that he could paint anything between an hour. So I decided to ask him to paint the Chinese animal zodiac in a bottle and we agreed on a price of 70 Yuan. When he started to draw I noticed that I have been conned as he do not know how to draw and his drawings are worst than my 9 years old son. True enough he insisted and raised his voice that I must pay the 70 Yuan, this drew the attention of the tourist crowd. So I paid and threw the bottle into a rubbish bin and the crowd started laughing.
Incident 3
Despite incident 2 I still went on to a street artist in the Bund Area in Shanghai, this time I listened to the local Chinese asking the price first and it was 20 Yuan for a portrait. I asked by myself what is the price and an artist replied 30 Yuan, feeling lazy to bargain over a small amount and I wanted to see in what way this guy can con a foreigner like me I agreed on the 30 Yuan. Upon finishing he said that the drawing have to be laminated if not the pencil lead will come off and for the lamination plastic I have to pay an additional 20 Yuan. I paid him with a smile and without any hesitation despite the portrait wasn’t very nice, he thanked me a started to pack his belonging and walked off. Later I noticed that other Chinese customer do not have to pay the additional 20 Yuan as I have predicted.
Incident 4
After incident 3, I walked to the Nanjing Street in Shanghai, it was a nice place with lots of neon lights, since it was a Saturday night most of the café was full and I went upstairs to a shop call UBC café to have a coffee, The price in the menu was quite expensive about 50 Yuan for a Mocha but I still ordered and they served me something like a Nescafe I wasn’t complaining as I was thinking to myself China is always China. Then there were two decent looking women from the next table asked for a cigarette from me as I was smoking the “ChungHwa” brand which is considered a high end Chinese cigarette. We started talking and they came over to join my table. When I was about to leave the girl asked for the bill and the bill came up to be almost 3,000 Yuan for a cup of coffee, 3 packs of brandy, a Chinese tea, some peanuts and a small portion of fruits. I told the waitress that I only consumed a cup of coffee and the rest was not mine, at this time the women said that they have no money and showed their purse and both of them do not have more than 150 Yuan in total, the waitress raised her voice and said that we are together and some how one of us must pay if not we can’t leave. I asked her to call the police as I am not going to pay. Instead she called her so called manager who looked like a gangster and he reduced the bill to 1,000 Yuan finally after much bargaining I paid the 1,000 Yuan. I was thinking to myself most probably the two girls were together with the Café owner this scam.
Through out my 3 weeks in China, almost everyday I was approached by someone in the street saying the same thing which was they came from town afar and they supposed to meet with their friend or relative but did not managed to meet up with them and they do not have enough money to go home, some of them wear very decently and some of them even bring their whole family. I did not fell into any of them. Maybe they think that I am a good target as I am a Chinese descendent and was able to speak some minor Chinese
Although all these scams that I came across happened in a tourism district and it involved a small sum of money this makes me extremely worry when a new supplier asked me to do a T/T in advance. There are so many people who wanted to cheat and rip off their customers for such a small value of money when we are dealing in the tens of thousand of dollars per transaction what make us to think that these people won’t be more tempted to cheat us?"
